Old Vaudreuil is Vaudreuil-Dorion’s original village center whose distinctive feature is its orthogonal grid which was drawn up in 1783.

Chemin des Chenaux runs along the shores of the Bay of Vaudreuil. This sector of Vaudreuil-Dorion was originally agricultural, but over the years it has evolved into a vacation destination. Among the residential complexes of the 21st century, there are still many fine examples of buildings from this not-so-distant past.
Due to its unique geographical location, this sector of the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion experienced rapid development, greatly influenced by the evolution of transportation modes, including the train and the automobile.
Developed by entrepreneurs Pratt & Fuger in 1956-1958, Dorion Gardens exemplifies a new urban planning concept that would mark the development of cities and suburbs across Québec in the late 1950s.
